Key Facts about Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)

Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is the primary commercial airport serving Las Vegas and the Valley in Southern Nevada. It is located approximately 5 miles (8 km) south of downtown Las Vegas, in the area of Paradise, and covers 2,800 acres of land. It serves approximately 54.9 million passengers annually, operating around 500 daily flights to over 150 cities worldwide. Southwest Airlines uses LAS as its western hub, and the airport is also a significant base for Allegiant Air and JetBlue, alongside more than 30 other operating airlines. The rental car at Las Vegas Airport is located approximately 3 miles from the airport, accessible via free shuttle buses from both terminals, housing all major rental car companies in one facility.

LAS has two main terminal buildings: Terminal 1, which is the primary domestic terminal with flights operating from the A, B, C, and D gate areas; and Terminal 3, which serves both domestic and international flights from the E gates. There is no Terminal 2 at Harry Reid; it was demolished in 2016 after years of limited use. The two terminals are not directly connected, so passengers cannot walk between them inside the airport. Instead, a free inter-terminal shuttle bus operates every 15 to 30 minutes on the curbside outside both terminals.

New Innovations at LAS Airport

Concourse D upgrades: Concourse D, connected to Terminal 1 via the Automated Transit System, features updated dining options including Shake Shack and Wolfgang Puck Express, as well as FlyFit walking tracks that allow passengers to stay active between flights.

Terminal 3 duty-free and international facilities: Duty-free shopping is available near gates D17, E1, and E7. Terminal 3 handles all international arrivals and departures and houses modern US Customs and Border Protection facilities, making it the entry and exit point for European and other long-haul services, including British Airways, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Condor, Korean Air, Norse Atlantic Airways, and Eurowings Discover.

Centralised security and TSA PreCheck and CLEAR: Terminal 1 has three separate security checkpoints with TSA PreCheck and CLEAR Plus fast-track lanes. Terminal 3 has one security checkpoint with TSA PreCheck also available. CLEAR is available across all four concourses at LAS.

FlyFit walking tracks: Concourse D features FlyFit walking tracks, allowing passengers to track steps and stay active during layovers. These painted floor tracks run through the concourse and are available to all passengers at no cost.

Mobile Passport Control: US citizens and residents travelling to LAS from international destinations can use the Mobile Passport Control app to submit passport and customs declaration information via smartphone or tablet, reducing Las Vegas Airport security wait times at the international arrivals processing area in Terminal 3.
